I grew up in a modest home in Cebu, Philippines with 3 siblings. Growing up, our mom instilled in us the value of living within our means and saving for rainy days. My dad was an OFW (Overseas Filipino Worker) working in the mining industry. I was in high school when the global financial crisis hit. My dad’s contract ended, and he remained unemployed for a couple of years. As our family’s savings declined and opportunities became limited, I saw firsthand the value of financial stability. Looking back now, I am very grateful for my parents’ hard work and resilience. It was a challenging period, but we pulled through and I was still able to pursue a college education.
I was able to get into a State University where I earned a degree in Industrial Engineering. Driven by the desire to solve problems and create better systems, I began in the manufacturing industry – conducting time studies, improving processes and managing procurement for production. During this time, I had the opportunity to work alongside Japanese engineers and managers in production planning. Witnessing their structured and efficient processes has deepened my appreciation for precision, consistency and commitment to continuous improvement. I wondered if I could bring these work values outside the walls of the manufacturing plant. I began to seek a more dynamic environment, one where I could apply these principles while making a deeper impact.
I transitioned into the Business Process Outsourcing industry and stumbled into the world of Australian financial planning. What started as a role in data entry and product research quickly turned into something more. I was captivated by the purpose behind every piece of financial advice. The more I learned, the more I wanted to contribute meaningfully to the process. With the guidance of a supportive team here in Blueprint, I transitioned into paraplanning, where I now help deliver tailored high-quality advice. I love that I still get to apply my Industrial Engineering background – solving problems and creating better outcomes, one statement of advice at a time.
Outside of work, I’m a proud mom to a spirited daughter who keeps life exciting. We love going for beach or mountain picnics over the weekend. Trail running is a hobby I currently enjoy with my husband – which doubles as quality time outdoors and a race I secretly aim to win every time.
