Relationship Manager

Purpose of the Position

 

The purpose of the position is to provide professional and proactive support to Financial Advisor(s) to enhance the client relationship. You will be the Relationship Manager with Blueprint Wealth and be the clients’ primary point of contact, responsible for client enquires, co-ordination of reviews and ongoing service. You will assist the Associate Advisor by providing case management support for clients, assisting them in implementing the recommendations and lodging their new business.

You will identify new business opportunities whilse ensuring the existing client base continues to be provided with relevant and quality advice.

Key Responsibilities & Activities

Manage the Financial Advisor(s)

  • Manage the Financial Advisors diaries – ensure all meetings are confirmed, client packs prepared and the Advisor has the required documents for meetings
  • Arrange and coordinate travel as required

Advice development and implementation

  • Assist Financial Advisor(s) with client meetings and presentations
  • Take responsibility for file notes and action items from client meetings
  • Prepare applications forms following meetings ensuring complete and ready to pass onto client services.
  • Provide assistance to client services support team with client paperwork, preparation of lodgements
  • Assist with lodgement of applications and implementation of advice as an overflow from client services
  • Regularly communicate with client on their cases progress

Attend meetings with the Financial Advisor(s)

  • Assist Financial Advisor(s) with client meetings and presentations
  • Take responsibility for file notes and action items from client meetings
  • Attend joint meetings with Financial Advisor as required, completing file notes
  • Pass on new business/advice opportunities to the Associate Advisor to manage

Identify new business opportunities

  • Actively contact AMP policy holders to offer financial planning services
  • Identify new business opportunities for existing clients through review meeting preparation and At a Glance document
  • Develop targeted marketing plan with Financial Advisor to identify target clients
  • Work as a team with the Financial Advisor and Relationship Manager to achieve Advis0r revenue targets

Review Meetings

  • Contact all service package clients to book review meetings
  • Obtain up to date information from clients in preparation for review meeting
  • Coordinate the preparation of advice documents as needed before review meeting
  • Ensure Financial Advisor has required documents for meetings and prepare Agenda of topics of discussion and required information
  • Attend review meetings as required
  • Implement action items following review
  • Keep clients updated throughout the process on progress

Compliance

  • Assist Financial Advisor(s) with practice compliance requirements
  • Report compliance breaches to practice designated Practice Manager
  • Maintain the data base to accurately prepare Fee Disclosure Statements and Opt in notices to clients as required
  • Follow up Opt in notices with clients
  • Completion of detailed file notes of all contact with clients
  • Preparation of No Advice documents as required
  • Complete FOFA and file audit requirements at end of advice process

Client Enquiries

  • Be the primary point of contact for clients
  • Respond to clients’ requests and provide the information sought – providing factual information, account details, assisting client in updating any details provided, provision of statements and required information, etc
  • Assist with ongoing management of self-managed super funds and ensure compliance requirements maintained
  • Assist with Centrelink enquiries and management
  • Escalate client enquiries to the Associate Advisor when of technical, strategy or advice based nature
  • Deal with complaints as they arise to find a resolution for the client
  • Manage client expectations on enquiries, providing regular and timely updates
  • Lodge insurance claims, liaising with the client and financial institution to complete

Maintain professional knowledge and technical financial planning skills

  • Ensure professional knowledge and expertise continues to be enhanced by attending appropriate courses and/or workshops
  • Maintain product, technical and compliance knowledge/requirements in accordance with the practice and industry guidelines
  • Participate in activities to ensure that an up-to-date understanding of financial planning practice is maintained eg. AMP online training, subscriptions
  • Assist in training and mentoring of new staff members

Qualifications, experience & skills

Essential

  • Good understanding of the financial services industry
  • Sound technical knowledge of current legislative, industry and corporate standards
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent client service orientation
  • Self-motivated with regards to personal and professional development

 Desirable

  • Diploma of Financial Services (or equivalent)
  • Tertiary qualified in a discipline such as financial planning, accounting
